About the cover image: NGC 2841, a flocculent spiral galaxy 65 million light years away in Ursa Major, seen by the Hubble Space Telescope in ultraviolet, visible, Hα and near-infrared light. Its short, patchy spiral arms lack the clear structure that drives star formation in grand-design spirals, so what triggers star formation there is still an open question.
